What is Nadcap?
The National Aerospace and Defense Contractor Accreditation Program (Nadcap) is the leading worldwide cooperative program of major companies. It is designed to manage a cost-effective consensus approach to special processes and products and provide continual improvement within the aerospace and automotive industries.

Why become Nadcap accredited?
There are two main reasons for seeking accreditation.  The first reason is that the prime customer requires accreditation for doing business in the aerospace industry.  Second, the various standards will ensure that consensus-based best practices are implemented for increasing quality of a product, while continually improving the process.

Preparing for a Nadcap audit?
Preparing for an upcoming Nadcap audit can be a nightmare, costly, and time consuming, especially those organizations starting the process of approval.

For organizations seeking initial Nadcap accreditations, a great deal of preparation is required. The efforts should be comprehensively focused in relevant areas to make them effective.

Organizations, prior to the initiation of the audit must submit their Quality Management System registration certificate to Nadcap. If the organization does not hold a Quality Management System accreditation, Nadcap will perform an assessment audit to the minimum requirements for the aerospace industry.

Only after the organization is granted a Quality Management System accreditation, the Nadcap audit for each type of special process for which the organization chooses to be certified will begin.
